Job Description:
POSITION: Graduate Associate (Massage Therapy Program) DIVISION:
Academic Affairs STATUS: Part-Time Hourly rate: $30.90 per hour
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Graduate Associate is responsible for
assisting lab, clinical/ practicum, and science class lead
instructors in various Massage Therapy program laboratory, clinical
classes, and functions. Graduate Associates also support the
Massage Therapy program’s initiatives dedicated to research and
community outreach. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist students and
lead instructors in performing the tasks at hand, as outlined in
the trimester's syllabus, including but not limited to grading,
attendance, equipment management, and similar functions. Help
students learn the various skills required for the laboratory and
science classes by fostering or creating dynamic and effective
learning activities. Work closely with lead instructors to support
out-of-class learning and development activities including
tutoring, examination preparation sessions, and similar activities.
Work closely with lead instructors to support operational functions
during on-campus and off-campus clinical/practicum sessions,
classes, and events. Support academic compliance and Northeast
College of Health Science’s policies while upholding FERPA and
similar ethical standards. QUALIFICATIONS: A Massage Therapy
education certificate of completion provided by Northeast College
of Health Sciences and/or New York State massage therapy license. A
solid academic performance in classes dedicated to massage therapy
methods, techniques, and science during their academic experience,
is necessary. The ability to interact effectively with students as
educators and role models is essential. Clinical massage therapy
experience in a clinical/medical setting is helpful. Northeast
