Job Description:

Job Summary: The Delivery Consultant is responsible for project estimating, design, and execution, working closely with the Development Manager to ensure successful project delivery and customer satisfaction.

As a key member of the Mid-South Area team, the Delivery Consultant will be responsible for:


  • Project estimating and design, from inception to contract signature
  • Resource allocation and workforce management to ensure schedule milestones are met
  • Change management and scope creep control
  • Development of project execution plans, schedules, and budgets
  • Collaboration with Sales and Engineering teams to secure customer contracts
  • Customer and subcontractor relationship management


    External Relationships:


    • Active involvement in the local contracting community and industry organizations
    • Maintenance of high customer satisfaction during project development and turnover


      Internal Relationships:


      • Collaboration with Development Team members to establish local market dominance
      • Close working relationship with Project Development Engineer assigned to specific opportunities
      • Assistance to the SI Delivery Manager in planning for future resource needs and allocating resources to meet near-term commitments
      • Assignment of Construction Managers to provide sales support activities early in the audit process
      • Consultation to Construction Manager during the installation phase regarding design intent
      • Assistance to the Development Manager in preparing the annual financial operating plan and ensuring Area fiscal year plans are met
      • Monthly financial reporting to the Development Manager


        Key Responsibilities:


        • Self-perform sales support activities early in the audit process
        • Self-perform cost estimating, project scheduling, and construction management of projects secured by the area team
        • Develop billing and payment schedules and assist in negotiating favorable terms
        • Understand project scope and customer expectations and communicate to Development and Delivery team members as necessary
        • Plan and schedule development activities pertaining to future delivery
        • Establish long-term customer and contractor relationships
        • Develop initial project delivery plans and schedules
        • Coordinate with SI Area Delivery Manager for required resources for project delivery
        • Determine construction resource duration and develop preliminary project schedules
        • Establish customer touch points throughout the project lifecycle
        • Communicate project status to the Development Manager as required
        • Foster and maintain good working relationships with subcontractors and JCI internal partners
        • Ensure compliance with state, local, and federal legal requirements
        • Champion contract compliance and code compliance of all subcontracted scope
        • Participate in project post-mortems for continuous improvement
        • Assist in setting up projects in MyWork, including document storage and team assignments
        • Promote and adhere to JCI safety policies


          Productivity Measurements:


          • Project profitability (secured margin)
          • Project cash flow based on beneficial contract terms
          • 100% tool usage - Risk Log, RFP tool, Pipeline Suite


            Requirements:


            • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business or equivalent work experience
            • Ten or more years of progressively more responsible operations management experience in the Installation Industry
            • High-level competence in written and verbal communication
            • Strong presentation skills and proficiency in speaking to large audiences
            • Able to lead and direct cross-functional and cross-business unit project teams
            • Ability to lead, manage, mentor, and inspire others
            • Knowledge of multiple levels with the supply chain org
            • Polished presentation skills, multi-faceted thinker, innovator
            • Strong ability to negotiate, persuade, and influence
            • Proficient in software scheduling tools and applications
            • High-level project management process competencies
            • Strong proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, SharePoint, Adobe Writer, Visio
