About the Department & Position
The Office of Workforce Planning and Compensation is seated in the Division of Human Resources responsible for leading staff compensation strategy, overseeing job structure development, wage and hour compliance, and effectively executing related policies, practices, and procedural enhancements through university-wide consulting and analysis.
As a Senior Consultant, you will report to the Sr. Director for Workforce Planning and Compensation. You will lead compensation priorities, objectives, and services in workforce planning strategy, and you will use your analytical and research skills to conduct market pricing, and benchmarking to inform and guide leadership decisions. You will provide senior expertise to pursue best practice standards through collaboration with internal and external constituencies on classification and job design. In addition, you will partner with Talent Analytics, Human Resource Information Systems, and campus constituents to drive workforce data strategy by assessing, analyzing and reporting on workforce trends to achieve business outcomes for the HR function.
Successful Candidate Profile
You will possess a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field with 5 to 7 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Areas of proven competency include:

  • Prior experience serving as an internal consultant and advisor. You are a collaborator and team contributor who shares your knowledge to coach others.
  • Effective communicator, presenter, and active listener.
  • Prior experience analyzing and evaluating job content and writing accurate, engaging job descriptions.
  • Demonstrated experience distilling large data sets, conducting predictive analysis, and using research techniques to translate the data into usable dashboards and reporting to help drive business decisions.
  • Proven organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, advanced Excel skills; operational knowledge of data visualization and interpretation with familiarity of workflow process.
