Assist in acquiring, validating, and interpreting data to improve hospitals quality/safety and reduction of risk to patients/visitors and staff. System Level employee with potential to work across the system. STATUS:Full TimeLOCATION: Canton Potsdam HospitalDEPARTMENT: Quality ManagementSCHEDULE: 8hr shifts, DaysATTRIBUTES+ Bachelor degree in a related field required, or 15 years' experience in database management+ Knowledge of Quality Control, P.I.; Quality Management required, Quality Software such as ThereDoc, Crimson, Truven, etc. + Computer skills: General computer literacy and knowledge of Microsoft Windows in a network environment: Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint required. Understanding of database structure and queries including use of SQL and ODBC to extract data. Familiarity with Crystal Reports including familiarity with sub reports and the use of formulas. Demonstrated capacity to quickly learn and use a variety of software and web-based systems. Ability to create macros and automate applications using automation tools and/or experience in database design and development are highly desired. RESPONSIBILITIES+ Data Collection & Analysis-The Quality Data Analyst is responsible for providing input for the collection, compilation and interpretive analysis of complex statistical data.+ Reports-the Quality Data Analyst provides documentation and produces reports based on these statistical analyses and may give oral presentations concerning the findings of these reports+ Project Management-Frequently provides data analysis for senior administrative use. Develops and monitors projects and serves as team leader for special projects.+ Data Accuracy-Responsible for identifying and correcting inaccuracies in the data submitted by departments, and communicating errors to the departments. Responsible for coordinating data requests and maintaining data based integrity. Analyzes reports and queries to uncover errors or problems, decides if errors are a result of data entry or programming, takes necessary steps to correct errors. Designs forms and reports and participates in the testing of new applications. + Time Management & Prioritization-Works on multiple projects simultaneously, able to focus and concentrate despite frequent interruptions. Provides leadership for ongoing and special administrative and developmental research projects. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSS - Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
