About us National Grid is hiring an Analyst , Design and Material Processing for our Gas Business Controls department in Syracuse, NY. Job Purpose Perform tasks to ensure the timely and efficient management of capital and operational expense work through the engineering and design work flow process, from project inception to closeout, including in part, work package preparation /issuance, procurement assistance and management of materials, TVC document tracking and updating and temporally supporting vendor communication . Key Accountabilities Track and report on progress of capital work from inception to closeout while maintaining TVC project documents and submittal log on the Design & Material processing SharePoint. Upload TVC records from completed projects into OpenText for final archive.
Support development and assembly of project work packages
Support procurement and tracking of project materials and documentation. This involves tasks such as but not limited to reaching out to vendors on ship dates or material issues.
Coordinate and support the Engineering permitting process
Provide reporting and analysis in support of closeout TVC process
Coordinate material management for capital improvement projects in assigned UNY to support gas capital plan.
Support tracking and monitoring of Engineering charges and costs and processing of shopping carts, purchase orders, invoices and confirmations (SharePoint).
Interface with Engineer/Asset Owner/PM to determine which projects are at a percentage of design completion ( 90%) that warrants the start of material ordering.
Consult Engineer or others as needed for material that require technical insight that may not be readily apparent in the BOM. Examples include actuators, launcher/receivers/heaters, etc. Qualifications

  • 1-3 years or more of prior experience
    • Detail o riented and good organization Skills
