Job Summary:
The Specialist in Poison Information will be responsible for
providing toxicological management information to health care
providers and to the public over the telephone; following up
information/support to potential symptomatic home cases, patients
evaluated/treated or admitted to a healthcare facility;
participating in research projects and professional educational
programs to include: new employees, students, residents, hospital
staff; other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
NYS licensed/registered (or eligible) Registered Nurse with a
Bachelors degree in Nursing and a minimum of 1 year hospital-based
ICU, ED or Medical Surgery nursing experience or Associates degree
in Nursing and 3 years of hospital-based ICU or ED or Medical
Surgery nursing required. *Will also consider a NYS
licensed/registered (or eligible) Pharmacist, Physician, Nurse
Practitioner, or Physician Assistant with prior hospital based
experience required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Current ED or ICU experience preferred.
Work Days:
Rotating evenings, nights, weekends and holidays
