buildings enhancing the magnificent landscape of the Ithaca campus,
approximately 1,000 highly talented and dedicated staff serve as
steward of the campus resources and operations. All employees are

responsibilities. Facilities Management (FM) provides maintenance,
grounds, and custodial services to the entire campus. FM serves as
a partner within the zone structure for the Contract Colleges (CC),
Endowed (EN), and Student and Campus Life (SCL) zones. As a key
steward of the University's facilities, FM is responsible for
facility assessments, skilled trades, general construction,
building care, grounds, recycling, asbestos, and the management of
planned, corrective, and preventive maintenance. Performs manual
labor and independently operates light equipment for general
landscape maintenance and /or landscape construction tasks,
including turf maintenance, plant maintenance, litter control, snow
removal, and other duties. Promptly reports unsafe conditions or
damage to campus landscape, equipment, or facilities. Safely
operates hand and self-propelled equipment and tools including
string trimmers, walk behind mowers, blowers, snow blowers, rakes,
and shovels to achieve required landscape standards. Subject to
call-in twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week to handle
emergencies, especially snow emergencies. Subject to shift changes
and extended working hours (including nights, early mornings,
evenings, weekends and holidays) to meet seasonal work demand.
Subject to working in weather related extremes of high and low
temperatures, snow and rain for extended periods. May come into
contact with sewage and dead animals. May be exposed to bees/stings
and other environmental allergens. Position is full time (39 hours
per week), temporary, non benefits eligible. Rate of pay is $18.53
per hour with potential overtime opportunities. Start time:
Normally 6:00 or 7:00 am. Ours is a values-based organization where
