Internal Posting Dates: April 2, 2021 to April 9, 2021 Environmental Services # Environmental Service Worker Shift: #Per Diem various shifts # Float # All Facilities (Req#4356) Cleans and services hospital building areas, clinics and facilities by performing a variety of Housekeeping duties to maintain the areas in an orderly, sanitary and safe condition. Responsible for all functions and duties of the linen position when assigned that task. Maintains all documentation that is required by the Hospital and/or#New York#State#and/or Federal Government. To attend training and educational in-services to continually improve knowledge and skills for Housekeeping. Qualifications: Floor Care- Moving Furnishings in order to clean, use of dust mops, damp mop with detergent solutions, dry mopping and floor buffing. Carpet Care- use of dry vacuums and attachments, moving furnishings, proper use of carpet shampoo machines. Cleaning- room fixtures, furnishings, (desks, credenzas, tables etc.), patient beds, wheelchairs, IV stands and other health care equipment, rest room fixtures, walls, ceilings, vents, windows, glass partitions, scrubbed or dusted and sanitized. Hang window and cubical curtains. Spot check walls and removes any stains. Baseboards, wash shelves. Keep cleaning carts and equipment in sanitary condition. Terminal cleaning as assigned by Director of Housekeeping. (Items a, b, and c in this summary relate to ALL areas of the hospital). Laundry-removal of soiled lines/replacement of clean linen. Soiled linen shall be removed from area, placed in hamper and taken to laundry storage facility. Trash Removal-proper disposal of trash inside the hospital and outside on the hospital grounds, walkways, parking lot etc., and emptying all trash receptacles. Trash is placed in large containers and taken to the utility room. There it is placed in larger container and disposed in dumpster outside. Disposal of Regulated Medical Waste- care and proper procedure followed in disposal. Placed in proper receptacles. Regulated Medical Waste is collected in designated red containers from area and taken to Regulated Medical Waste Room only. There it is stored in large designated red containers until it is removed from the hospital by a contracted outside source. Assist in the training of new employees in the proper use of equipment and procedures in the performance of tasks. MSDS- shall participate in Material Safety Data training and all in service education and orientation as may be required by the Director of Environmental Services. Safety and Emergency- Shall be responsible for adherence to safety and emergency procedures. These will include but not be limited to: A: reporting observed hazards to appropriate personnel, B: use appropriate signage to warn of potential safety hazards when cleaning, C: maintain security by locking doors upon completion of cleaning duties. D: adhere to infection control and isolation policies and procedures. E: demonstrate ability to implement internal and external disaster plans. F: participate in departmental training activities and meeting. Shall be responsible for performing all other tasks as assigned by the Director of Housekeeping in all areas of the hospital and/or clinics and facilities.
