Sodexo is seeking a Food Production Manager 2 to join a Senior Living Facility located in New Hartford, NY. This position will oversee a 140 bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation community and oversee 18 Sodexo union frontline (hourly) employees. This individual will report directly to an General Manager. We are looking for candidates with catering, strong back-of-house, and production experience.

This candidates would need to be flexible with schedule. 6am-3pm or 11am-8pm working every other weekend

This position will direct the daily operations of food service operations to ensure employees have appropriate equipment, inventory and resources to perform their jobs and meet goals and deadlines.

  • Oversees the preparation, portioning, garnishing, presentation and safe storage of food..
  • Ensures that kitchen, equipment, storage facilities and dining room are sanitary, neat and organized.
  • Probes potential problems and apprises manager of status on resolution of problems or issues, using appropriate Sodexo resource when necessary.
  • Supervises day-to-day work activities by delegating authority, assigning and prioritizing activities and monitoring operating standards.
  • Manages by providing positive and constructive feedback to employees in order to reward, coach, correct and motivate.
  • Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local regulations as well as Sodexo/client policies and procedures (e.g. quality assurance, safety, operations, personnel)
  • Establishes a safe work environment for employees by providing safety-related training and equipment maintenance and by ensuring compliance with Sodexo safety and loss prevention programs and with standards.
  • Manages the budget by controlling costs (e.g. labor, inventory, equipment, materials), complying with budget requirements and making adjustments when necessary.
  • Establishes operating standards, implements quality improvements and communicates them to employees.

Position Summary

Responsible for inventory management and procurement of food and supplies at an account/unit to ensure client satisfaction and retention for the Company. Manages food production through kitchen staff in a medium facility. Contributes to account revenue and operating profit contribution through cost containment and safety. Key Duties- Utilizes Sodexo resources, recipes, systems and programs to direct daily operations including; food production, inventory, product deliveries, invoices, and procurement operations.

  • Ensures employees have appropriate equipment, supplies and resources to perform their job, and meet goals, cost controls and deadlines as assigned.
  • Establishes and maintains a safe work environment including both food and physical safety in order to comply with all regulatory and Sodexo standards
  • Complies with budget requirements by controlling costs (i.e. labor, inventory, equipment, materials) and making adjustments when necessary
  • Supervises employees by delegating, assigning and prioritizing activities, and monitoring operating standards

Qualifications & Requirements
