In support of TCGplayer’s aggressive expansion plans, we are
looking for a CMO who will position TCGplayer as the premier online
destination globally for the collectibles and hobbyist markets. You
will directly oversee a ‘full-stack’ marketing organization
currently comprising 20 FTE and plans for growth consisting of
teams responsible for: Digital Marketing, Mar/Ad Tech,
BI/Analytics, Design Services, Editorial, Affiliates, and

Mentor, recruit, and grow a marketing organization that will
optimize the customer journey and ensure TCGplayer is supporting a
world class customer experience.
Help the organization deeply understand two-sided drivers of
both selling and purchasing across a variety of customer cohorts
(i.e. competitive, casual, collectors/investors, and retailers) as
each of these personas and demographics have very different
behaviors and need to be targeted and drawn into the platform
differently on both sides of the marketplace.
Define a performance marketing growth roadmap that expands
across and optimizes all viable channels (i.e. Social, Search,
Email, Influencer, TV, Radio, Podcast, Magazine, Direct Mail, OOH,
and more) ensuring TCGplayer is positioned thoughtfully while
achieving growth KPIs, ROI, and ROAS.
Develop and implement effective attribution models to understand
the performance of all channels and optimize spend accordingly,
providing analytical insight into customer acquisition, behavior,
Lead brand, creative design, and media teams to materially grow
and efficiently capitalize on TCGplayer’s brand elements and
Work closely with external agencies and firms such as PR.
What You Bring To The Team 10-15 years experience leading and
growing high-performing marketing teams for an
eCommerce/multi-sided marketplace with a proven track record
developing customer acquisition functions that meet key objectives,
strategies, and forecasts.
Because of the design of TCGplayer’s marketplace and retailer
(SMBs) services expansion, the CMO must have experience overseeing
initiatives targeting both sides of a marketplace, incorporating
frequent ‘switching’ on the platform. Such as buyers frequently
becoming sellers and vice versa.
TCGplayer’s marketing efforts must be grounded in measurement
and metrics. For buyers it's more important to understand retention
and growth of spend. For sellers it's more about retention and
growth of inventory added.
Comfortable ‘diving in’ and operating in a very hands-on manner,
understanding that certain functions are still being developed,
while at the same time designing the right playbook for
organizational design and hiring.
Experience building teams within early-stage companies going
through hyper-growth while also understanding best practices from
large corporate settings.
Fluent in P&L leadership and management, a track record of
building and leading teams that drive efficient growth, and be able
to establish credibility through vision, thought leadership,
technical expertise, and execution.
