Age Requirement: Must be 18 years or older Location: Rochester, NY Address: 1500 Brooks Ave Pay: $70,680 - $88,350 / year Job Posting: 06/25/2025 Job Posting End: 07/25/2025 Job ID:R0249865 In this role, you will help oversee the repair, maintenance, and upgrades for our distribution center equipment. This includes the AS/RS system, mechanized product transport and sorting equipment, dock levelers, dock doors, trailer restraints, pallet jacks and fork trucks. Additionally, this position is responsible for the maintenance shop and ensuring the success of its staff. What will I do? - Manage and develop a team of employees, engage in meaningful conversations, build trusted relationships and provide the resources, feedback, and development opportunities they need to be successful - Establish the maintenance staffing schedule to support Operations and Distribution initiatives; manage maintenance personnel overtime, vacation, and various payroll issues as defined by the collective bargaining agreement - Participate in programs and cross-functional initiatives aimed at improving overall safety in the department and throughout Distribution - Maintain the handling systems including conveying systems, automated storage and retrieval systems, mechanized systems, fork trucks, pallet trucks, dock levelers, dock doors, trailer restraints, and ancillary telecommunication systems - Partner with engineering, construction, IT, and other teams throughout the organization to manage the maintenance aspects of material handling system upgrades - Manage the complete Maintenance Labor and Parts budget annually; report monthly findings - Coordinate facility maintenance programs and processes to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel; ensure compliance with all Wegmans human and food safety policies and procedures - Support utility services for the warehouse, including electric power distribution, natural gas service, water supply, sanitary sewer & waste removal - Manage the maintenance activities of the assigned satellite facilities; including all contractors, service agreements, and any maintenance issues on-site - Direct the planned, preventative and corrective maintenance activities of the Maintenance Planner; assess recommendations on scheduling & work costs Required Qualifications - 5 or more years of facility maintenance experience - Experience in project management, maintenance practices, and system commissioning - Experience managing and developing others - Experience working with computers, including a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), and able to learn new systems quickly Preferred Qualifications - Experience managing in a union environment - Associate degree in a related field At Wegmans, we’ve long believed we can achieve our goals only if we first fulfill the needs of our people.
