The Engineering Team at TCGplayer creates and maintains a suite of products in support of our role as the leading online marketplace for trading card games and collectibles. As a member of the TCGplayer Marketplace team, you will help us revolutionize the collectibles digital ecosystem. You will help us solve complex business challenges with innovative solutions that delight our customers.
Who You Are
As a Senior Software Developer on the Marketplace Search & Recommendations team, you'll drive scalable and stable solutions in collaboration with our marketing, product, UX, and other engineering teams. We are looking for a seasoned C#./NET developer who would also be excited about digging deep in complex search algorithms to provide the optimal search results for our flagship website portals. If you are a highly skilled C#/.NET developer with some Elasticsearch experience in best practices for index design, sharding strategy, and how to optimize for read & write heavy use cases on an ever-growing dataset, this position may be a great fit.
The Impact You Will Make Here

• You'll be a driver for many of our projects using elasticsearch here at TCGplayer.
• You'll interface with technical teams, lead some projects, and mentor more junior engineers.
• You'll design and develop features of our next generation search framework. You will help us pursue new challenges like personalization, discovery, and machine learning based relevancy.
• You'll help design best-in-class solutions for our buyers utilizing AWS infrastructure, and create platforms for monitoring, managing and easing throughput of our services to ensure service response times are fast and data integrity is maintained across all platforms.
• You should be thorough in your designs and implementation, passionate about code quality, performance and continuous improvement.
• You should be able to take a holistic view to software development; keeping the big picture in mind and seeing a project through from beginning to end while always striving to use the right tools for the job.
  What You Bring To The Team
  
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or a related field, or a combination of education and experience
  • 8+ years of C#, .Net Core, Entity Framework, and .Net MVC Razor experience
  • 3+ years of experience Elasticsearch (Either Elastico or AWS ElasticSearch)
  • Fluency in at least two programming languages, such as C#, Javascript, Go or Java
  • Expert SQL programming skills: Stored Procedures, Views, and Functions
  • Experience with event processing mechanisms such as Kafka or AWS SNS/SQS
    You're Extra Awesome If You Have
    
    • Experience working with AWS Cloud
    • Experience designing and developing microservices using cloud technology with considerations for concurrency and parallelism
    • Basic understanding of NoSQL platforms such as Redis, DynamoDB and MongoDB
