We are seeking a SQL Server DBA to join our client's team.
 
The SQL DBA, maintains, develops and implements policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the company databases. Implements data models and database designs, data access and table maintenance codes; resolves database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues. Responsible for system up-time and disaster recovery planning as it relates to database systems.  Manages and monitors ETL data process flows.
 
Job Description:
 
This role is focused on providing hands-on operational deployment and support for commercial and custom software applications, with an emphasis on SQL Server and Data Integration methods and technology.  You will be an individual contributor responsible for researching, designing, engineering, implementing, and supporting information security technologies with a focus on MS SQL environments.  Your primary duties include leveraging your in-depth technical knowledge to manage and enhance the databases that are within commercial solutions as well as internally developed by providing direct application administration and troubleshooting, code analysis/reviews, and controls management.
 
The successful candidate must be willing to participate in potential 24x7 break-fit situations.
 
 
SQL SERVER DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR RESPONSIBILITIES
 
•Provide expertise on the implementation of database technologies and disciplines.
•Install, upgrade and adjust database management systems.
•Work with business experts and application developers to define logical data models.
•Transform company logical data model into a database design.
•Recommend concessions to support database performance and downstream flexibility.
•Construct indices based on application usage patterns.
•Design replication and/or ETL strategies to support business continuity and reporting needs.
•Review SQL with developers to ensure applications perform at a high level against the database.
•Design database access security controls.
•Monitor database performance and space allocation.
•Plan, organize, implement, and maintain multiple database environments
•Design database Backup, Recovery and Restoration Strategy
•Perform capacity planning on database servers
•Participate in a 24/7 database support rotation.
 
 
SQL SERVER DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
 
•5+ years’ experience with SQL Server 2008 R2 or higher Required
•Bachelor's degree or commensurate years of experience Required
•Strong knowledge of Relational Databases and T-SQL Scripting is Required
•Experience with SQL server clusters and replication is highly desired
•Experience with SSIS / SSRS and data modeling preferred.
•Experience with MicroStrategy 9.0 or higher Bonus
•Understanding of Software Development Life-cycle
•Understanding of Change Control models
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•Ability to meet multiple deadlines in a multitasking environment
•Strong problem solving skills
•Positive attitude and strong work ethic
