  • $33 per hour based on experience & qualifications (NOT flat-rate)
  • The shift is Monday-Friday 6:00 am - 3:00 pm full-time shift schedule, and consistent, year-round work
  • Annual allowances for boots and prescription safety glasses This First Student location is looking for a strong Lead Technician / Shop Foreman that coordinates the day-to-day operations of a group of Technicians assigning, monitoring, and reviewing progress and accuracy of work, directing efforts, and providing technical guidance on more complex issues in our School Bus maintenance shop that services buses for the Rome City School District.
    Oversee repair diagnostics on more complex matters and provide coaching, where necessary. Oversee maintenance shop inventory control system to ensure necessary equipment and parts levels are maintained and purchases are within budget. Schedules and administers fleet maintenance and assists in troubleshooting complex problems with equipment. Provides direction to all Technician levels, and ensures that all repair and maintenance is performed in a safe, efficient and timely manner. Qualifications
    High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair (preferred) Class B CDL with passenger endorsement required (or expected within 3 months of hire ASE Certification preferred. Must participate in ASE testing program (expected to have Master Ascent within 6 months of hire) Advanced mechanical aptitude and 3+ years of automotive or diesel repair experience required 1 year of supervisory experience in a lead technician role, and/or supervisor or other management role requiring a thorough knowledge of safe working practices, DOT, OSHA, and other federal and state regulations Strong experience with computers, web-based applications, and computerized diagnostics Strong customer service and organizational skills Strong written and oral communication skills First for a Reason Professional Advancement Start here.
