Job Description Office of Children and Family Services Physical
Therapist Summary of Need: To provide physical therapy services
consistent with the established systematic approach for the
delivery of comprehensive care, which are compliant with the
regulatory standards in a juvenile correctional setting. Facility
Overview: Industry Residential Center is located 16 miles south of
Rochester, New York. There are secure and limited secure settings.
The youth served at IRC are male, adjudicated, juvenile delinquents
who are placed with OCFS by Family Court. Depending upon the
sentence, youth may remain in OCFS custody until the age of 21.
Industry Secure Center is accredited by the American Correctional
Association and has a current population of approximately 44 youth.
Free parking is available on-site. The dress code is business
casual or scrubs. Currently, there are no vaccine requirements.
Supervision staff will be present when the employee is providing
nursing care to youth. Job duties: Independently administers
physical therapy treatment programs and services to individuals
recovering from surgery, and/or with more severe or acute physical
disabilities, such as fractures, amputations, hemiplegia,
peripheral nerve injuries, or other forms of paralysis. Additional
duties to be discussed in detail during the interview. • Obtains
and reviews individuals’ information, including health histories. •
Examines and evaluates individuals’ condition, including physical
and neurological status; and performs and interprets selected tests
and measurements to assess individuals’ potential and existing
movement-related disorders. • Develops and implements individual
physical therapy treatment plans, including treatment goals and
anticipated outcomes. • Selects, administers, and monitors
therapeutic treatment modalities, which may include heat, cold,
light, air, water, sound, electricity, massage, mobilization, and
therapeutic exercise with or without assistive devices. • Conducts
and supervises individual and group physical therapy activities and
programs to assist individuals in attaining therapeutic goals; and
provides instruction and training to individuals in activities of
daily living. • Observes and records individuals’ progress,
response, and behavior in accordance with program standards; and
modifies treatment plans, interventions, and goals as needed.
Qualifications : Licensed and registered to practice physical
therapy in New York State and one year of post licensure
experience. Preferred experience with youth ages 12-18 Hours: 2-3
times per week, for 4-6 weeks depending on doctors orders. Max 20
