Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 03/30/2026 - Duration: 14 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview - Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs - Hours: 36 hrs/wk - Start Date: Mar 30, 2026 - Length: 14 weeks - Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry Float Pool position requiring NY licensure, multi-unit float capability, and prior travel nursing experience. Details - Float pool position covering Med/Surg, PCU, ICU, ED, and Pediatrics units - 12-hour night shifts (7p–7a), 3 shifts per week (36 hours/week) - Weekend, holiday, and call coverage required - Uses MEDITECH for charting Requirements - Active NY RN license currently in hand - Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS - At least one successfully completed travel nursing assignment required — first-time travelers will not be considered - Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing - Experience floating across Med/Surg, PCU, ICU, ED, and Pediatric settings - Coronary care experience required - Ability to safely assess and implement patient lifts and movement - Strong leadership, prioritization, and delegation skills - Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills - 2 references from a Charge RN, Supervisor, or Manager from within the past year and within the specialty Additional Information - Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted - May be required to assume charge nurse duties - Must be able to function effectively in high-stress situations and apply creative problem-solving skills - Thorough knowledge of nursing principles required, including clinical, teaching, mental, and spiritual patient care needs American Traveler Job ID P-678507.
