Registered Nurse (RN) | Progressive Care Unit Location: Auburn, NY Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,242 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 3/30/2026 About the Position Job Title: Step-Down Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year recent Step-Down experience License: Active Registered Nursing License Certifications: BLS ACLS NIHSS Must-Have: 1 year post-cardiac catheterization experience required Cardiac monitoring experience Dysrhythmia interpretation and management skills IV start and maintenance experience Knowledge of blood product administration Experience with procedural sedation administration and monitoring Description: The Step-Down Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing specialized nursing care to patients in the critical care stepdown unit. The nurse will monitor and assess patients with conditions such as congestive heart failure, respiratory failure, and cardiac dysrhythmias. Post-heart catheter care and monitoring of vascular procedures will be essential duties. Frequent vital sign checks and neurovascular assessments will be required. A strong foundation in cardiac and emergency care is necessary. The role involves effective infection prevention practices, isolation precautions, and the proper use of personal protective equipment. The nurse will also be involved in managing complex medication regimens, including titration of cardiac drips and administration of emergency medications. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are required to work within an interdisciplinary support team. Travel candidates should be flexible and ready to adapt to varied patient care needs. This position will require the ability to work weekends and provide coverage based on unit needs. Candidates must be committed to providing high-quality care to diverse adult and geriatric patient populations.
