Registered Nurse (RN) | Med/Surg / Telemetry Location: Rochester, NY Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,088 per week Shift Information: 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 4/6/2026 About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg / Tele RN in Rochester, New York, 14626! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: MS/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year License: NY license required Certifications: BLS Must-Have: - Mandatory competency in phlebotomy - Placement of IVs Description: Registered Nurses are required to have mandatory competency with phlebotomy and placement of IVs. This is a required skill for any RN. The patient-to-nurse ratio during the day and evening shifts is 5 to 1, which may stretch to 6-7. Night ratios are expected to be 6-7 to 1, stretching to 8-10 if staff calls in. Patient Care Technicians are available on all units for vital signs, blood glucose checks, EKGs, and activities of daily living. All travelers are required to float within their scope to meet facility needs. Floating may occur between like units. Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias are essential skills. Experience with rapid response teams is necessary. Knowledge of peripheral line care and management, as well as oxygen administration, is required. Isolation precautions must be adhered to. Patient diagnoses include acute respiratory failure, congestive heart failure, COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, and sepsis. Special equipment includes BIPAP, CPAP, high flow devices, ventilators, tracheostomy tubes, and chest tubes. Experience with the Epic charting system is preferred. Daily patient census typically includes adult and geriatric populations. Candidate must complete modules pre-start. Modules may be billable and are recorded via facility report. RNs are expected to manage amiodarone drips and respond effectively to patient needs.
