Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: OR - Operating Room - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 04/20/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - OR Job Details: • Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM • Weekend, holiday, and call coverage required • On-call duties required with 30-minute response time • Mid-April start date • 100-mile radius rule applies • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing required • Current New York State RN license or eligibility required • Those without recent operating room experience must complete and pass the six-month Association of Operating Room Nursing Peri-operative 101 Education Program • Successful completion and passing grade on final exam is mandatory for employment • BLS certification required or must be obtained within 3 months of hire • ACLS certification preferred • Minimum one year medical/surgical experience preferred • Preceptorship, charge, and leadership abilities preferred for experienced RNs • Must possess thorough knowledge of nursing principles and ability to provide quality patient care • Must be able to assess patient needs including clinical, teaching, mental, and spiritual aspects • Must recognize safety issues and implement safe patient lifting techniques • Must function well in stressful situations with creative problem-solving skills • Strong leadership skills with ability to prioritize and delegate • May be required to assume charge nurse duties • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills required • Knowledge of clinical equipment and instrumentation for OR/ASU settings required • Lethal dysrhythmia interpretation skills required Facility: This medical center provides comprehensive healthcare services with a focus on surgical excellence and patient-centered care.
