Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Staff Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Six months to three years License: Current RN License Certifications: BLS Certification, ACLS Certification (if required by unit) Must-Have: Cardiac Telemetry RN Stepdown/PCU experience Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities. The RN is responsible for the prevention of illness and injury, and the alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response. The RN advocates for the care of individuals and families. The RN assesses, plans, delegates, coordinates, implements, and evaluates nursing care for a group of patients. The RN serves as a primary or accountable nurse, based on unit assignment and safety considerations. The RN educates patients and families in health promotion and disease management. The RN utilizes knowledge of pharmacology to safely administer medications according to policy. The RN shares in the responsibility for productivity and effective resource utilization. The RN complies with all nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and policies. The RN actively participates in and supports improvement initiatives and contributions to peer review practices. The RN engages in professional development and completes all mandatory education requirements. The RN integrates nursing research and current evidence into practice. The RN provides a supportive learning environment for new employees and students. The RN performs other duties as assigned. Required experience includes managing cardiac telemetry patients, familiarity with cardiac medications, and dealing with post-operative cardiac cases. Experience with heart catheterizations, CHF, CP, arythmias, NSTEMI, STEMI, PE, and post-op CABG is preferred. Skills in collaboration, communication, critical thinking, organizational understanding, planning, problem-solving, quality, reliability, and safety are essential. Preferred experience includes clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting. A graduate of an accredited school of Nursing is required, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing preferred.
