Job Title: Registered Nurse - Med/Surg Profession: RN Specialty: Acute Med/Surg Duration: Full Time Shift: Rotational Day/Night/Weekend/Holidays Hours per Shift: 12-hour shifts Experience: One (1) Year Experience serving in Med/Surg Environment as a Registered Nurse License: RN Licensure Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Ability to deliver high-quality compassionate care to patients and families Description: The Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical, and communication skills in delivering high-quality compassionate care. The RN assesses patient needs and develops a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. The RN provides direct care, evaluates patient progress, and coordinates care delivery throughout the patient’s episode. The Med/Surg RN develops specialized skills in the area of cardiac care, including telemetry monitoring. The RN is accountable for patient and family education to assist in understanding self-care beyond hospitalization. He/She promotes comfort and provides emotional support in a healing environment. Applies nursing knowledge and skills by assessing patient and family needs. Uses active listening and social perceptiveness to understand patient reactions. Creates a developmentally and culturally relevant individualized plan of care. In collaboration with the patient, family, and healthcare team members, sets goals and monitors progress.
