Job Description Job Description Job Title Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (Night Shift) Location - Syracuse, NY Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse for night shift coverage in a high-acuity emergency care environment. The ideal candidate is comfortable treating both adult and pediatric patients and can deliver safe, efficient care with minimal supervision. Shift Details Shift: Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) Schedule: Includes every other weekend and select holidays Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care to adult and pediatric patients. Perform rapid and thorough patient assessments and prioritize care based on acuity. Administer medications, treatments, and interventions per established protocols. Respond to emergency situations, trauma activations, and critical events. Accurately document patient care using an electronic medical record system. Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary teams. Maintain compliance with safety standards, hospital policies, and regulatory requirements. Deliver high-quality patient care with minimal orientation and supervision. Required Qualifications Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license BLS certification (must be current and maintain recertification) Minimum 1.5 years of recent Emergency Department experience (within the past 2 years) in an acute care hospital of similar size and acuity Ability to work legally in the United States Successful completion of pre-employment health clearance, drug screening, and background check Strong clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills No history of professional license suspension, investigation, or professional liability claims Preferred Qualifications Experience in a Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma Center Experience caring for both adult and pediatric emergency patients Prior experience using EPIC Electronic Medical Records Travelers with experience in hospitals of equal or greater size or trauma designation Required & Desired Skills Emergency Department nursing experience (minimum 2 years required) Level 1 trauma hospital experience (highly desired) EPIC EMR experience (highly desired) Active New York State RN license For more details reach at jmckenzie@navitashealth.com About Navitas Healthcare, LLC: It is a certified WBENC and one of the fastest-growing healthcare staffing firms in the US providing Medical, Clinical and Non-Clinical services to numerous hospitals.
