Job Title: ER Charge Nurse / House Supervisor Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: 2 Years License: State License Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS Must-Have: Charge nurse experience required House supervisor experience preferred Triage experience required Charting experience with any system Description: This position combines roles as an ER Charge Nurse and House Supervisor. Charge nurse experience is necessary. House supervisor experience is highly preferred. The facility is a small community hospital with only medical-surgical and emergency room units. The average daily census is 26 patients. There are 7 rooms and 8 beds available. The staffing ratios are 1 nurse to 4 patients across all shifts. Every other weekend is required for this role. Candidates must hold certifications in ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS. The unit accepts first-time travelers. Local candidates are not accepted; applicants must reside more than 50 miles from the facility. There is a maximum request time off of 7 days. Scrubs can be any color. The unit serves a diverse patient population, including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. The average daily census in this unit is 19 patients. The facility supports interdisciplinary services including physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. Common patient diagnoses include CHF, pneumonia, and various withdrawal syndromes. This unit handles medical-surgical, detox, and swing bed patients. Bariatric equipment is available as needed. Candidates must have floating experience.
