Title: Critical Care Float Registered Nurse Profession: Nurse

48 Experience: Minimum of six months to three years of nursing
experience; five-plus years of direct experience preferred.
License: Current RN License Certifications: BLS Certification (AHA,
HSI, or American Red Cross); ACLS preferred Must-Have: Critical
Care experience; Epic experience preferred Description: The
Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and
abilities. The RN is responsible for the prevention of illness and
injury. The RN alleviates suffering through the diagnosis and
treatment of human responses. Advocacy in the care of individuals
and families is a key responsibility of the RN. The RN is
accountable for compliance with all standards of practice and
professional development. Adherence to the Nurse Practice Act and
relevant policies is mandatory. The RN promotes a caring and
healing environment for patient-centered care. The RN assesses,
plans, delegates, coordinates, implements, and evaluates nursing
care. The RN serves as a primary nurse and/or accountable nurse as
designated by unit assignment. Factors related to safety,
effectiveness, competency, cost, and impact are considered. The RN
educates patients and families in health promotion and disease
management using available resources. A working knowledge of
pharmacology is utilized, and medications are administered safely.
The RN shares responsibility for productivity and effective
resource utilization. Compliance with all nursing practice
standards and regulatory requirements is required. Active
participation in the Nursing Shared Governance Model and
improvement initiatives is expected. The RN engages in professional
development and completes all mandatory education requirements.
Integration of nursing research and current evidence into practice
is encouraged. The RN provides a supportive learning environment
for new employees and students. All United Health Services Values
