Physician - Internal Medicine (Nocturnist)-Rome, NY Base Salary: $325,000 annually Starting Bonus: $15,000 Employment Type: Full-Time, Hospital Employed About the Opportunity We are seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Internal Medicine Physician to join a growing Hospitalist team as a Nocturnist at Rome, NY. This is an excellent opportunity to practice inpatient medicine in a supportive, community-centered environment with strong subspecialty and intensivist coverage. Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care to a manageable census of 5-10 patients per night . Conduct admissions from the ED and direct admissions, including thorough histories, physicals, and diagnostic assessments. Accurately document all encounters in the Paragon EMR system. Manage acute medical conditions for patients on the hospitalist service, including care in an open ICU with 24/7 intensivist support for complex cases. Collaborate with nursing staff, specialists, case managers, and ancillary departments to ensure optimal patient care. Develop and coordinate safe and timely discharge plans, including follow-up care arrangements. Participate in handoff communications and interdisciplinary rounds to support continuity of care. Engage in quality improvement initiatives, performance metrics, and patient safety programs. Adhere to all hospital policies, medical staff bylaws, and regulatory documentation requirements.
