Registered Respiratory Therapist Location: Syracuse, NY Agency: SnapCare Pay: $2,602 per week Shift Information: Rotating - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 12 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Title: ( Respiratory Therapist ) - Contract Location: Syracuse , NY Job Details: • Travel Pay Rate: $33hr $1414 wk Stipend (Tax Free) • Local Pay Rate (within 50 miles): $56hr • 3 shifts X 12 hours (36 hours a week) • 12-week assignment Description of job: Respiratory Therapists at Upstate University Hospital provide critical care and therapeutic interventions to patients with cardiopulmonary conditions. They administer treatments such as oxygen therapy, ventilator management, and airway clearance techniques under physician direction. This role requires strong clinical judgment, technical expertise, and the ability to work in fast-paced, acute care environments. Qualifications: • Current BLS certifications • Current NY RT license • 2 year of experience required Responsibilities: Administer respiratory treatments such as oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, chest physiotherapy, and airway clearance techniques. Manage mechanical ventilation and monitor patients on life support systems, adjusting settings based on clinical assessments and physician orders. Conduct diagnostic tests including arterial blood gas analysis, pulmonary function tests, and pulse oximetry. Respond to emergency situations , including code blues and rapid responses, to provide airway management and resuscitative support. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams , documenting patient progress and contributing to care planning in acute and critical care settings.
