Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nurse Specialty: Staff Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 36.00 Experience: 5 years preferred License: Current RN License Certifications: BLS Certification Must-Have: - A graduate of an accredited school of Nursing. - Nursing experience of six months to three years. - Management experience of zero to three years. Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities. This includes the prevention of illness and injury and the alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response. Advocacy in the care of individuals and families is a critical component of this role. The RN is responsible and accountable for compliance with all standards of practice and professional development. This is in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, policies, Scope and Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics for Nurses, and the Bill of Patient Rights. The RN promotes a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care. Key Responsibilities: Assesses, plans, delegates, coordinates, implements, and evaluates nursing care for a group of patients. Serves as a primary nurse and/or accountable nurse when designated by unit assignment. Considers safety, effectiveness, competency, cost, and impact in all nursing actions. Educates patients and families in health promotion and disease management using available resources. Utilizes knowledge of pharmacology and safely administers medications according to established policies. Shares responsibility for productivity and effective resource utilization, including staffing, time management, and supplies. Complies with all nursing practice standards and regulatory requirements. Actively participates in and supports the Nursing Shared Governance Model. Engages in professional development, continuing education, and completes mandatory education requirements. Integrates nursing research and current evidence into practice. Provides a supportive learning environment for new employees and students. Performs other duties as assigned. Preferred Skills and Experience: Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting. Professional certification in a related nursing specialty.
