Quality Assurance RN Nurse Bishop Rehabilitation & Nursing
Center is seeking a full-time Quality Assurance RN Nurse to join
our clinical team at our long-term care facility in Syracuse, NY .
Job Summary: The Quality Assurance RN plays a key role in
maintaining and improving the quality of care provided to our
residents. This position is responsible for implementing and
monitoring the facility’s Quality Assurance and Performance
Improvement (QAPI) program, ensuring compliance with NYS Department
of Health, CMS regulations, and industry best practices. Reporting
directly to the Director of Nursing, the QA RN collaborates with
interdisciplinary teams to promote clinical excellence and a
culture of continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities: Monitor
nursing practices and provide feedback, coaching, and support to
nursing staff to ensure adherence to quality standards. Participate
in audits and analyze data from CASPER reports, PointRight, survey
outcomes, and internal assessments to identify trends and
opportunities for improvement. Prepare QAPI reports, contribute to
monthly QA meeting minutes, and follow up on action plans. Support
the Director of Nursing in coordinating and evaluating staff
development and education programs. Assist in the development and
implementation of policies and procedures that promote compliance
and high-quality care. Maintain accurate records for quality
metrics, infection control, and wound care programs. Serve as a
resource for clinical staff, providing guidance on best practices
and regulatory requirements. Participate in state surveys and
follow-up processes as needed. Foster effective communication and
collaboration among all departments to improve patient outcomes.
Requirements: Graduate of an accredited RN program. Current RN
license in New York State . Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related
field preferred; Master’s degree a plus. CPR certification
required. Experience in long-term care, quality improvement, or
nursing leadership strongly preferred. Knowledge of infection
control, wound care, emergency preparedness, and nursing compliance
regulations. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication
skills. Must demonstrate professionalism, discretion, and high
ethical standards. Physical Requirements: Ability to move
intermittently throughout the workday (sit, stand, bend, lift).
Must be emotionally stable and able to handle stress effectively.
Ability to lift supplies/equipment and tolerate exposure to common
workplace substances, odors, or infectious materials.
