Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Surgical Technologist - Discipline: Allied Health Professional - Duration: 13 weeks - 40 hours per week - Shift: 8 hours, days, on call, rotating - Employment Type: Travel Title: OR Certified Surgical Technologist Location: Watertown, NY Shift: 11a-7:30p - Weekend, call and holidays required Pay: $50.67 Requirements: - MUST BE CERTIFIED- CST - Must have travel experience! - Must have Ortho experience! - Must have scrubbing experience! - Must have Davinci experience! - May be asked to precept new staff - Completion of a Certified Surgical Tech program preferred or current New York State LPN license eligible - Approved pharmacology course or previous medication experience and successful achievement in medications exam. - Knowledge in the use of cleaning/sterilization/disinfections of equipment and instrumentation utilized in the clinical operating room setting. - BLS required. - Continuing education requirements of 15 CEU's per year. - Qualified candidate will function under the direct supervision of an RN and assist in Nursing care and preparation of the surgical patient by performing routine & delegated duties according to the standards and policies of the hospital and department. - Candidate will perform technical duties relating to scrub personnel, including precise & efficient reaction to all situations & assist with departmental work as assigned. - Surgical techs have a vital role in creating and maintaining a sterile surgical room and ensure that surgical equipment is functioning properly & safely as well as assisting surgeons during surgical procedures. - Must arrive within 1/2 hour of getting called in.
