12-week assignment Description of job: Speech-Language Therapists
(SLTs) at Upstate University Hospital assess, diagnose, and treat
patients with speech, language, cognitive-communication, and
swallowing disorders. They develop individualized treatment plans
and provide therapy across inpatient and outpatient settings. SLTs
collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and rehabilitation
teams to support comprehensive patient care. Qualifications: •
Master's Degree in Speech Pathology • Current NY licensure •
Completion of the Clinical Fellowship year is required
Responsibilities: Evaluate patients with speech, language, voice,
cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders using
standardized assessments and clinical observations. Develop and
implement individualized treatment plans , adjusting interventions
based on patient progress and goals. Provide therapy sessions for
patients across diverse settings, including acute care, outpatient,
and rehabilitation units. Educate patients, families, and
caregivers on communication strategies, feeding techniques, and
home exercises. Document evaluations, treatment plans, and progress
notes in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory
