Job Description:

St. Josephs Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Board Certified or Board Eligible Psychiatrist to join our Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP) team on a per diem basis. This critical role provides evaluation, diagnosis, and acute treatment for patients experiencing behavioral health emergencies. The CPEP psychiatrist plays an integral role within a multidisciplinary team, helping to ensure timely, effective interventions and patient stabilization. This is an excellent opportunity for a Psychiatry physician to join a comprehensive medical group KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Conduct psychiatric assessments for individuals in crisis - Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including psychotropic medication management - Collaborate with emergency department staff, including physicians, nurses, social workers, and security personnel, to ensure coordinated and compassionate care - Recommend and facilitate appropriate dispositions, including inpatient admission, outpatient referral, or community support services QUALIFICATIONS - Active New York State medical license or eligibility - Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry - Strong diagnostic and decision-making skills in fast-paced, high-acuity environments - Prior experience in emergency psychiatry or related behavioral health settings preferred COMPENSATION - $200/hr with a differential for evenings and weekends - Malpractice insurance coverage included - Opportunity for flexible scheduling within a respected and supportive team environment
