Job Description:
Shift: 07:00 AM - 07:00 PM Description: Administer medications
and injections as prescribed. Perform tube feedings, hang IVs, and
collect blood samples (if certified for venipuncture). Provide
colostomy care and other prescribed medical procedures. Monitor
patients’ conditions, report changes, and document vital signs
(temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure). Obtain
specimens for analysis and perform other treatments or procedures
as ordered by a physician. Prepare and apply dressings, bathe and
feed patients/residents. Provide basic personal care and manage
patient living quarters, including making beds, changing linens,
and moving/lifting patients. Supervise and provide clinical
instruction to Graduate Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and
direct care staff on nursing care procedures. Delegate appropriate
nursing tasks and responsibilities to nursing and direct care
staff. Make clinical rounds to assess patients’ care needs and
evaluate the quality of nursing services delivered. Serve as a
liaison to external agencies and healthcare providers to ensure
seamless continuity of care and appropriate follow-ups. Advocate
for patient/resident needs and coordinate discharge planning with
involved providers. May perform supervisory duties, contribute to
staff performance evaluations, and assist in preparing clinical and
administrative reports. Nursing services may be provided in a
state-operated healthcare facility or in a community-based
residential or program setting. Requirements: Licensed and
currently registered as a Registered Nurse (RN) in [State].
Certification in venipuncture preferred (if applicable to duties).
Strong clinical skills with the ability to supervise, instruct, and
delegate effectively. Excellent communication, organizational, and
advocacy skills.
