Job Title: ICU RN Profession: Nursing Specialty: Critical Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day/Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Current critical care experience preferred. Traveler must have completed at least one successful traveler assignment. License: Must have a current RN license. Current NYS RN license required. Certifications: BLS required. ACLS required. PALS preferred. IV and IV contrast certification required. Coronary care course or successful completion of challenge exam within orientation period required. Basic lethal dysrhythmia certification required within six months of employment. NIHSS certification required within the first six months of employment. Must-Have: Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. Possesses a thorough knowledge of nursing principles. Ability to provide quality patient care. Ability to assess patient's needs, including clinical, teaching, mental, and spiritual needs. Must recognize safety issues to self and others. Ability to assess and implement the use of lifts or move patients safely. Must be able to function well in stressful situations. Good creative problem-solving skills are essential. Strong leadership skills with the ability to prioritize and delegate are required. May be required to assume duties as a charge nurse. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills are required. Previous employees must have been gone for at least two years and be eligible for rehire to be considered. Permanent residence of the traveler must be at least 60 miles away.
