Job Title: RN Part Time Profession: Nursing Specialty: Long-Term
Care (LTC) Duration: 12 months Shift: Part Time D/N Hours per
Shift: 8 hours (2 shifts one week / 3 shifts the next week)
Experience: Minimum 1 year as RN in LTC License: New York RN
License Certifications: BLS (through AHA) Must-Have: LTC
experience, EOW and holiday work required Description: The RN must
demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care
appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit.
The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of
growth and development across the lifespan. The RN must possess the
ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and
interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each
patient's requirements relative to age-specific needs. The RN must
provide care needed by adult and geriatric patient groups. The RN
provides direct and indirect skilled nursing care for assigned
residents. The RN follows defined policies and procedures under the
supervision of a Registered Nurse. The RN maintains a collaborative
relationship with other nursing staff, physicians, and ancillary
staff. The RN maintains an appropriate level of knowledge and
clinical expertise through continuing education and in-service
programs. The RN shall have the ability to provide care to
geriatric residents. Job Duties: The RN collects data relevant to
the resident's physical and psychosocial condition on an ongoing
basis and communicates findings to the Supervisor and other members
of the Interdisciplinary Team. The RN contributes to the creation
of a developmentally age-appropriate and culturally relevant plan
of resident care reflecting nursing diagnosis and interventions to
achieve desired resident outcomes. The RN involves the
resident/family and healthcare team in this process while promoting
a healthy, safe environment. The RN recommends revisions to the
plan of care after evaluating resident outcomes and indicates the
need for referrals to ensure all aspects of the resident's care
have been addressed. The RN collaborates with the resident/family
and members of the Interdisciplinary Team within the scope of
nursing practice while ensuring customer satisfaction. The RN
maintains current knowledge and competency in Nursing Practice. The
RN participates in the mentoring/orientation of staff. The RN
considers factors related to safety, cost, and impact in planning
and delivering care. The RN provides leadership in the professional
practice setting under the direction of the Nurse Manager. The RN
demonstrates knowledge and competency in their role. Occupational
exposure to bloodborne pathogens is reasonably anticipated.
Required tasks involve potential contact with blood, body fluids,
or tissues.
