Job Title: RN Profession: Nursing Specialty: Surgical and General Medicine Duration: 13-week contract Shift: Days with 3 weeks of nights if needed Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: 1-2 years of experience is required License: RN license required Certifications: AHA BLS required Must-Have: Surgical experience required; EPIC experience highly preferred Description: The position involves caring for patients with surgical abdominal incisions. New ostomy patients will be handled in this role. Most patients will have surgical drains. Floating to other units is expected. RNs are expected to help with blood draws. There may be instances of being called off for up to 3 shifts during the 13-week contract and up to 2 shifts for contracts shorter than 13 weeks. Every other weekend and holiday work is expected. The first day of orientation is always a 12-hour day shift. A second shift of orientation will occur before assuming an assignment on the third day. There will be 8 hours of non-billable orientation.
