*Employment Type: *Full time*Shift: *12 Hour Night Shift*Work Schedule*: Full time 36 Night Shift, 7p-7:30a, Every other Weekend/Holiday*Description:*At *St. Josephs Health Hospital *has been, and remains, the backbone of our integrated system, delivering award-winning care and providing enhanced value to our primary, specialized, and partner care facilities throughout the region. The *Registered Nurse Observation Unit *is a fast-paced short stay acute unit, admission flex with an expected 24-48-hour length of stay who works collaboratively with the ED and inpatient teams to assess, monitor, and manage patients who do not meet full admission criteria but need further evaluation before discharge.*What you will do*:* Perform initial and ongoing assessments, including vital signs, pain levels, and neurological status. Monitor patients for changes in condition and escalate care as needed* Therapeutic nursing interventions, hands on skills including class II telemetry monitoring, POCT, IV Placement, and venipunctures. Coordinate patient education, goal setting, care planning, multidisciplinary care team coordination, and discharge planning.* Collaborative team approach using SNAP rounding daily with interdisciplinary team to ensure patients are on track with goals, patients are progressing, and needs are met.*Minimum Qualifications: ** *Education*: Graduate of an accredited college or university affiliated nursing program. BSN graduate preferred.* *Licensure*: Current Licensure as a Registered Nurse RN in New York.* *Certification*: BLS & ACLS* *Experience: *Minimum of 2 years clinical experience Med/Surg or Acute Care setting*Ministry/Facility Information:**St. Josephs Health* is a regional non-profit health care system based in Syracuse, NY.
