Job Summary: The Director of Pharmacy has overall responsibility for managing and planning for the efficient and effective delivery of Pharmacy services to support Upstate Community Hospital's delivery of healthcare. Provides vision and leadership for Upstate Community Hospital's efforts to provide the most cost-effective and clinically appropriate pharmaceutical interventions using principles of pharmacoeconomics, outcome measures and critical pathways. Delegates supervisory and other responsibilities to pharmacy personnel.
Minimum Qualifications:
NYS Pharmacist license/registration (or eligible) and a minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in a hospital setting (preferably in an academic medical center) to include 3 years in a supervisory/management capacity required. Effective leadership, organizational, interpersonal and analytical skills required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with medical and pharmacy residency education and allied health education preferred.
