Therapist - SPEECH PATHOLOGIST - Traveler Position - Open!
Opening for a department of Speech Therapy for two hospitals in the
beautiful finger lakes region of New York State.
Reports To: Director of Rehab Services
Education: Minimum: Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology,
ASHA Certification CCC-SLP (Successful completion of CFY year
post-masters degree) Preferred: Strong CF considered
License-Certifications: Current, or eligible for, NYS SLP license;
BLS certification required through the RQI system during clinical
orientation.
Experience: Minimum: New grad acceptable Preferred: One to two
years experience.
Must be able to travel to multiple locations on any given day as
requested. Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information
with discretion and ability to deal with the people in a
professional and courteous manner. Ability to meet deadlines,
manage multiple priorities and enhance the spirit of teamwork
through effective role modeling. Excellent interpersonal,
communication and organization skills. Computer literacy Preferred:
Experience with Microsoft Office products and electronic medical
record
Population Specific Requirements: The staff member must demonstrate
the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to
the age of the patients-customers served on his or her assigned
unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles
of growth and development of the life span and possess the ability
to assess data reflective of the patient's-customers status and
interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each
patient's-customers requirements relative to his or her
age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed by - pediatric,
adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient group.
Responsibility: Provides high quality evaluation and treatment
services for individuals with communicative, swallowing, and
cognitive difficulties. Coordinates these services with other
programs within the Health System and with outside agencies. Meets
the needs and exceeds the expectations of our customers.
Practice Performs patient evaluations, establishes measurable
goals, selects appropriate treatment program, monitors patient
status, and communicates information appropriately. Establishes and
conducts all patient care programs according to guidelines
established in policy and procedure manual.
Documentation & Training: Completes all documentation as stated in
contracts or policy and procedure manual. Actively participates in
providing the patient and other appropriate individuals with
therapy information or training necessary to assure continuity in
patient care. Maintains accurate and complete billing records.
