Position Role Type:

Manufacturing Engineering Manager will be responsible for
supporting Design Engineering requirements on the shop floor.
You'll lead a team of product sustaining engineers that support
production of existing designs, as well as integrating novel
materials and approaches for manufacturing aircraft
driveshafts.
This position is in Rome, NY. The work associated with this
position will be onsite.
Primary Responsibilities:
Guides and directs the preparation of products past the design and
development stage.
Investigates pertinent design factors such as ease of manufacture,
availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability,
replace ability, strength-weight efficiency, and contractual
specification requirements and cost.
Develops or improves products and facilitates manufacturing
operations.
Develops data and makes layouts, sketches, and notes for design
proposals.
Supplying resources for design engineering support of real time
problem resolution on the shop floor.
Supplying resources to support the Quality Clinic, providing design
engineering dispositions for non-conforming product.
Writing and ensuring completion of engineering changes for
platforms that are in production.
Supporting LRIP and transition from design and development phase
into production phase.
Supporting re-invigoration of products that have not been produced
regularly.
Reviewing designs, drawings, and working plans to improve products
and facilitate manufacturing operations.
Provides technical leadership and assists in training less
experienced engineers to help them diagnose and solve problems and
build capabilities.
Qualifications/Experience Needed:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or
Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and
minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in
a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of
a degree, 12 years of relevant experience
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized
to access information under this program/contract."
Preferred Qualifications:
Metal manufacturing experience - steel, aluminum, titanium
Design for manufacturability/assembly
Managing direct reports
Familiar with Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) tools - 5 Why's,
fishbone, etc.
