Job Description:

This position reports to the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreational Sports. This position will provide day-to-day-direction, guidance and supervision to A&E Center student staff as well as for the overall budget management of the department. 1. Assist with the Management of the operations of the Athletics & Events Center including the Glazer Arena, Higgins Stadium, tennis courts. Provide and implement policies, guidelines, and procedures for all A&E Center activities; review annually and work with the Associate Director to revise as needed. 2. Manage the departmental operating budgets to include preparing, monitoring, and reconciling each sport budget. Identify available funds and serve as a resource for coaches and administrative staff in resolving operational budgeting issues. Serve as liaison with the Budget Office and the Office of Financial Services in the reconciliation and disbursement of funds. 3. Make travel arrangements for teams including contracts for bus transportation, hotels and assist with plans for team travel. Work with coaching staff to secure appropriate team travel for athletics contests. 4. Participate in development and maintenance of the master calendar for the Athletics & Events Center working with coaching staff and the Intercollegiate Athletics management team. Assist with coordination and planning the schedule use of the Glazer Arena, Higgins Stadium, tennis courts. Develop and maintain schedules required to ensure the timely preparation of the facilities and support the set-up, take-down and maintenance of equipment essential to scheduled activities. 5. Coordinate the athletic game contracts for home games to include preparation of contracts, disbursement of home game contracts to visiting institutions, ensuring implementation of and adherence to game contract requirements, and updating master calendar. 6. Develop, demonstrate, and promote multicultural awareness and contribute to cultivating an inclusive, diverse and respectful College community. Demonstrate a commitment to diversity and inclusion as a college priority, communicate to employees an expectation of behavior that is civil and inclusive when interacting with all staff, faculty, students and visitors and promote a flexible, collaborative and inclusive work and living environment. 7. Serve as a resource to the campus community in matters pertaining to intercollegiate athletics and provide assistance to the associate director and coaches in resolving issues involving the use and scheduling of facilities, equipment, tournaments and post-season contest set-ups and logistics, and issues involving the Glazer Arena, Higgins Stadium, tennis courts. 8. Participate in the development and implementation of a comprehensive safety program to ensure the safe operations of the facilities and programs and participant safety. Enforce facility rules on conduct and use by adults and youth. Maintain safety plans and accident and incident reports. 9. Support management of athletic events to include competitions, invitational and championship events. 10. Support safety and etiquette policies and establish and implement disciplinary procedures related to use of the Glazer Arena, Higgins Stadium, tennis courts and the aquatics pavilion. 11. Represent the athletic programs at various athletic events, campus and community events; serve on campus and community committees as appropriate. Bachelor's degree required and Master's degree preferred in related ?eld and a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in managing budgets, financial systems, coordinating contracts for team travel. coordinating use of athletic facilities, and working with coaches, faculty, and student athletes; strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills; in-depth knowledge of NCAA rules Ability to cultivate an inclusive, diverse and welcoming environment; ability to treat all people equitably and with a sensitivity and awareness to cultural difference; demonstrated ability to hold others accountable for behavior that is supportive of a community that is diverse and inclusive are required. Most of the work of the incumbent is carried out within a generally accessible, safe, indoor and outdoor environment. The incumbent will be required to lift and carry up to 60 pounds; demonstrate the use of sports equipment; operate a personal computer and associated equipment such as computer printers as well as other o?ce and facilities equipment used in day-to-day operations. The incumbent will be required to attend various functions and events during and after normal business hours, evenings, and weekends.
