much more. Expected salary range of $149,400 to $166,000, varies
based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that
includes bonus and 401(k). PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION Directly
manages the Radiation Protection ALARA Analysts, Radiation
Protection outage planner activities in their daily support of
plant Operations and maintenance activities. Is responsible for
assuring that the Radiation Protection Department maintains a
strong ALARA program through proper monitoring, assessments, and
evaluation of plant exposure data. Is responsible for the
regulatory knowledge and training of the ALARA staff necessary to
improve station and departmental performance. Ensure the Radiation
Protection technical programs are in compliance with federal,
state, and company regulations in the areas of monitoring personal
internal and external radiation exposure, radioactive waste
packaging and shipment, radioactive source control, respiratory
protection and instrumentation. Is the site expert with regards to
Health Physics technical evaluations and regulatory issues. PRIMARY
DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES Owner of the Site's ALARA program.
Ensure that the ALARA program meets the standards set forth in the
guidance documents and maintains site exposure as low as
achievable. Responsible for the maintenance and coordination of the
Radiation Protection programs including: Unconditional Release,
Radioactive Source Control, RP Instrumentation, Internal and
External Dosimetry Program and records and Radioactive Material
Controls. Participate in Business Planning, Budget and Business
Performance review regarding RP and the site. Fulfill managerial
responsibilities regarding assigned staff (e.g. Employment,
Development, Compensation, Performance Evaluation, etc.). Ensure
consistent and effective work force practices through assigned
supervisors/functions. Assist the Radiation Protection Operations
Manager in developing, reviewing and implementing department
procedures and policies, and assuring that these documents meet all
federal and company regulations. Attend Peer meetings to assure
that industry best practices and standards are being implemented
effectively and uniformly across all sites. Accountable for
ensuring that department activities, priorities and resources are
being managed effectively. Providing Critical observations and
feedback to site and departmental staffing to foster continuous
improvement. Responsible for the management of the Radioactive
Waste Shipping Program, including DAW control and storage of
radwaste. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Must have Bachelor's degree in
Health Physics or equivalent and a minimum of 5 years professional
level experience at a nuclear reactor facility OR Associate degree
in Health Physics (or related science) with 7 years of professional
experience at a nuclear reactor facility OR Minimum of 9 years
professional experience in radiation protection at a nuclear
reactor facility Successful completion of core
supervisory/management training and development programs Must be
technically knowledgeable of regulatory and industry standards for
highly effective ALARA program PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Successful
completion of NRRPT or CHP certifications Strong knowledge of Code
of Federal Regulations, Station Technical Specifications, and Final
Safety Analysis Report documents
