Job Description:
Position Summary The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible
for designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing
processes. This includes collaborating with production teams,
ensuring product quality, reducing waste, improving efficiency, and
applying engineering principles to manufacturing solutions. The
role involves a continuous effort to enhance processes, support
product development, and maintain safety and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities: • Process Design & Optimization: Develop and
implement manufacturing processes, workflows, and layouts to ensure
efficiency, productivity, and cost reduction. • Machining
Processes: Deep understanding of various machining processes,
including CNC milling, turning, grinding, and drilling. Knowledge
of cutting tools, materials and machining parameters. Understanding
of material properties and their behavior during machining. Ability
to select appropriate materials for specific applications. •
Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving: Identify issues in production,
participate in root cause analysis, and implement corrective
actions to resolve problems affecting quality or throughput. • Cost
Reduction: Work on initiatives that drive cost savings through
better utilization of resources, improving production efficiency,
and reducing material waste. • Collaboration: Work closely with
production teams, maintenance, and other engineering departments to
ensure smooth manufacturing operations. • Continuous Improvement:
Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean, Six
Sigma, Kaizen) to enhance manufacturing processes. • Safety and
Compliance: Ensure manufacturing processes comply with safety
standards, industry regulations, and environmental laws. •
Technology Implementation: Introduce and integrate new technologies
or machinery to improve manufacturing capabilities and efficiency.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of
processes, designs, improvements, and production performance
metrics. • Tooling and Fixtures: Experience in designing and
selecting tooling and fixtures for machining operations. Knowledge
of tool holding and work holding principles. Education and
experience: • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering,
Mechanical Engineering, or related field. • Relevant experience in
a machining environment is highly desirable. • Expertise in CAD and
CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD), process simulation tools,
and ERP systems. Ability to create and interpret technical drawings
and 3D models. Understanding of G-Code and programming languages is
a plus Knowledge of measurement tools and techniques for ensuring
part accuracy and quality. Familiarity with quality control
standards and procedures. • Strong understanding of manufacturing
processes (e.g., machining, assembly, welding, molding, etc.). •
Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process
improvement methodologies is a plus. • Strong problem-solving
skills and the ability to think analytically to troubleshoot
machining issues. • Excellent communication and teamwork skills. •
Machine Shop experience (preferred)
