An educational institution in Ithaca, NY is seeking a skilled School Psychologist to provide comprehensive psychological services across elementary through high school grade levels (K-12). This contract position will support student academic achievement, social-emotional development, and overall well-being by conducting assessments, collaborating with staff and families, and implementing intervention strategies. Key Responsibilities: - Conduct psychological evaluations and assessments for students in grades K-12 to identify learning, behavioral, and emotional needs. - Collaborate with educators, administrators, and families to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and intervention strategies. - Provide counseling and crisis intervention services to support student mental health and behavioral challenges. - Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute professional insights to support student success. - Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with relevant state and federal regulations. - Deliver training and resources to school personnel on psychological best practices and student support strategies. Desired Qualifications and Experience: - Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or a closely related field. - Valid licensure or certification as a School Psychologist in New York State. - Experience working with students in grades K-12, with familiarity across early childhood, middle, and high school education levels. - Strong assessment, diagnostic, and counseling skills. - Ability to communicate effectively with students, families, and educational staff. - Knowledge of state and federal special education laws and procedures.
