Job Description:

Remote position
This position is located in Ithaca, New York. The successful
applicant will have the option to perform this role remotely at a
location of their choosing in the United States.

What is the Division of Financial Affairs and the Payroll
Office?

the Payroll Office is a multifaceted office that provides pay to
all employees, vendors, and state and federal agencies.
What you will do:
The Payroll Assistant will respond to routine and non-routine
inquiries and provide direction and assistance to individuals as
needed through the main telephone line, email, and ticketed
requests. This position will also be a major contributor to ensure
the proper functioning of the Payroll and Tax office from an
administrative perspective. These responsibilities may include the
intake and handling of all payroll forms and requests, distribution
of incoming faxes and payroll checks returned to the office. Under
general direction, the Payroll Assistant will also assist in the
preparation of various correspondence, campus outreach and
training, and work cooperatively with and, as necessary, as back up
to other Payroll and Tax staff members.
Who you are:
You are a friendly, approachable, organized, self-starter with an
acute attention to detail. You possess the skills to determine
priorities, and provide excellent customer service, by delivering
professional, and timely responses to all customers. Ideally, you
will have spent time working in an environment where you are able
to successfully tackle prioritizing multiple deliverables of
varying complexity and urgency. You are skilled in building
effective working relationships and take pride in handling
confidential information with discretion. Other important
qualifications for the position include:
* An associate degree in and 2-4 years of administrative experience
OR an equivalent combination.
* Proficiency in computer applications in a cloud-based environment
such as Microsoft Office, One Note, Visio, Box, SharePoint, and
Zoom.
