Job Description:

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:--Working under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer, as an integral part of the Finance Team, responsible for processing Accounts Payable, grant and contract billing, pledge processing and Monthly Financial Reporting.?ACCOUNTABILITY:--Chief Financial Officer?POSITION STATUS:--Full-time, hourly, Non-ExemptOVERALL AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:Receive, audit and process Purchase Orders to ensure accounting codes are appropriate and follow financial procedures for processing/approving invoices for agency operations, initiatives and grants/contracts.--Ensure budgets have sufficient balances to cover expenditures.Allocate expenses using agency cost sharing allocations.Process disbursements to vendors based on reconciliation of invoices, purchase orders and receiving documents.Ensure that all necessary information is maintained to determine which vendors are subject to 1099 reporting and generate 1099's.Maintain AP and grant filing system.Provide support to United Way Initiatives.Prepare and invoice grant vouchers for billing, balancing expenses to the general ledger.Calculate match funds based on the grant guidelines.Responsible for financial accuracy, validity of A/P, and grant billings.Perform monthly financial close procedures in a timely manner, including assigned journal entries and bank reconciliations.Provide accurate data entry for campaign pledges and credit card payments, designations, etc.Provide customer service as it relates to AP, pledged donations, and grant administration.Prepare analysis of accounts and produce Financial Reports and research variances as needed for the Chief Financial Officer.Assist with agency audit and grant audits.Assist in other projects and duties within the Finance Division and other divisions as directed by the Chief Financial Officer or President of United Way.--POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience.--EXPERIENCE/BACKGROUND/KNOWLEDGE:--Experience in Non-Profit accounting is preferred.Experience in grant reporting is preferred.Desire to continue to grow through ongoing professional development training.SKILLS/CAPABILITIES:Experience and demonstrated skills in organization and management of multiple projects and assignments with the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.Ability to work with individuals from all levels and backgrounds, to work well independently as well as part of a team, and to work in a fast-paced environment.Experience with, and understanding of, Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and databases. Must have the ability and desire to learn new and/or customized software.Excellent planning, evaluation, and research skills.--Must have the ability to analyze and manage a variety of data.--Very detail oriented.Strong oral and written English language skills.
